Lyn has played in many Orchestras & Bands across the UK
Lyn Rajah, a versatile musician, teacher and composer, is available on Tenor Trombone for studio session work, dep work, gigs concerts, events, weddings, birthdays anniversaries and other special occasions.
Lyn is a Classically trained Musician who plays the Trombone, Classical Guitar, Lead Guitar, Piano and Treble Recorder. She is also available for Beginner Classical Guitar lessons and beginner Trombone lessons.
Performance wise, styles include; folk, motown, jazz, classical, pop and funk.
Sapo - a 5 piece modern jazz ensemble
Big Smoke Music also offers for hire, 'Sapo' - a 5-piece modern jazz ensemble also available for events.
Sapo consists of Lyn Rajah (Vocals/Trombone), Tom Spencer (Trumpet), Frank Gordon (Lead Guitar), Fredy Pinto (Bass Guitar) and Richard Gunn (Drums).

Both Lyn Rajah and Tom Spencer of Sapo Modern jazz will soon be joining BBC Elstree Concert Band for their Belgium tour of Ghent in July.
Sapo modern jazz also now have a regular slot playing at The Cat's Back jam night on Sunday nights from 8:30pm at 86-88 Point Pleasant, Wandsworth.
Last night's jam on the 17th April prooved to be a great success as the band played a mix of jazz, blues and pop and even got the crowd dancing - they were a lovely crowd though. :-D
Lyn has recently joined CB's Big Band in Archway who rehearse every Friday night.
Lyn has also started depping again on Tenor Trombone for Surrey Brass, now conducted by their new conductor Graham Chambers (ex LSO Librarian) and also for Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra (WSO), conducted by Keith Stent. WSO's next Concert is on Saturday 19th March (please see 'Events').
Since last June, Lyn has added another string to her bow! She currently teaches adult beginners classical guitar every Tuesday evening nr Liverpool Street. Please see Link for Coppergate House Guitar Group for more details.

Lyn is on tour with the BBC Elstree Concert Band 22nd -25th July in Ghent, Belgium. She is currently playing Tenor Trombone with 'The Denmark Street Big Band' (www.denmarkstreetbigband.co.uk), 'Morley Jazz Orchestra', 'Baregroove' (www.baregroove.com) and for the past 10 years has been dep for The Incredibly Strange Film Band (www.isfb.co.uk).
Lyn has also recently depped for 'Surrey Brass' and The Kalakuta band at Hoxton's 'Troy Bar' and performed on stage with Nigerian Singer 'Diamond.' Kalakuta features original ex-members of Fela Kuti's band. Lyn has also permanently joined 5-piece modern jazz ensemble 'Sapo' on lead Jazz vocals and Tenor Trombone. Lyn's first public peformance with Sapo was in June, 2010 and future performances are planned for other venues across London.
